What is Cranio-Sacral Therapy?
Cranio-sacral therapy is an effective tool for helping human beings relax, heal and move freely.
It’s particularly suitable for babies and children because it is very gentle, using light, comforting touch.
Cranial treatment can help your little one sleep better, digest more comfortably, move more easily and work through any birth trauma.
During a treatment, your baby or child will stay fully clothed and can be awake or asleep, in your arms, lying on the massage table, feeding or in any position that makes them feel safe and happy. Older children can sit or lie, with a blanket and a cuddly toy or something to play with if they would like that. It’s fine for kids to roam too - they don’t need to stay still for long periods. I will always be guided by what your little one needs.
At the start of the session we’ll spend a bit of time talking through symptoms, what you’ve noticed about your baby or child, maybe how the pregnancy and birth were, and any other relevant things. When we’ve all settled in a bit, I’ll take up gentle contact on your little one’s body to feel for any tensions, restrictions, twists or blocks and help them to release.
You can ask as many questions as you like, at any point in the treatment, and I’ll explain what I’m doing as I go. Afterwards your child will likely seem more relaxed, happier, and more like themself. Sometimes one treatment is all that is needed to resolve any issues, and at other times it may take a few sessions.
Appointments last up to an hour, though we may not need the whole time.
Locations and Prices
Rather than one fixed price for a treatment, I offer a range. You can pay anything from £40 to £70, according to what is affordable for you.
Payment is by bank transfer, by the end of the day we meet, and I’ll send you all the details you need for that when you book. You choose the amount when you pay.
I am happy to treat people of all ages, not just babies and children.
To book a treatment for your little one or yourself, or if you have any questions, email hinny@hinnywassyoga.co.uk. I’ll be delighted to help!
My Garden Room
I work mainly from home, near Donnington Bridge, in a cosy treatment space at the bottom of my garden. It is a warm, light room, and quiet, apart from birdsong and the occasional cat or squirrel on the roof! I will send you the exact address when you book a session.
The Little Health Hub
On Wednesday mornings I work from a treatment room at The Little Health Hub, which is in the same building as West Oxford Community Centre on Botley Road, near the train station. The LHH is a home for complementary and talking therapies for children and adults. The community centre also has a nice cafe, and there is a playpark just outside.
Both locations have free car parking and secure bike parking, and are not far from bus stops.
"HUGE improvement. The difference by Sunday was amazing. She’s like a little owl looking around and is much more settled and comfortable. She has full range of motion in her neck, and is moving around more.
She is a happy happy baby and we’re seeing so much more of her personality now. What you do for them is absolutely amazing."
Jodi, mum of 12 week old Effie
"Hinny's craniosacral therapy has been extremely beneficial for me in helping treat my ongoing conditions including chronic fatigue, kidney-related pain and other neuromuscular conditions.
Her clinical approach is warm, knowledgeable, targeted and professional and I found the treatment sessions to be very effective at increasing my mobility and reducing my overall pain. I can't explain why it works, I just know it does work!
I highly recommend Hinny's treatments to anyone thinking about it."

About Hinny
I am a Registered Cranio-Sacral Therapist (RCST), which means
I am a member of the Cranio-Sacral Therapy Association, and I graduated from the College of Cranio-Sacral Therapy in London in 2022.
I decided to train after experiencing for myself just how effective cranial treatment can be, for both physical and emotional issues, and I’m so happy to be able to help other people find healing in this way. I particularly love working with babies and children; it gives them a great foundation for a healthy future, so they can thrive, learn and have fun, and if the little one is happy then it’s good news for the whole family! I remember my time as a new mum as being both really wonderful and really hard, and I am always glad to help other mums in any way I can.
I would describe my approach to cranio-sacral therapy as humanist; in my work I don't refer to spirituality, only to the body and our lived experience of it.
I come from a family of scientists, and when I first started training I struggled sometimes with the fact that I couldn't explain exactly why this kind of therapy works. Over the years I have been practising, though, I have seen CST reliably provide relief from pain, anxiety, distress and exhaustion time and time again.
Through close family, I have lots of experience with Pathological Demand Avoidance. With everyone I work with, whether PDA or not, I take a low-demand approach, and try to give all clients as much autonomy as possible.
As well as cranial work, I also teach yoga. It took me a while to find out what my calling was, and along the way I also acquired a BMus in Folk and Traditional Music and an MA in Linguistics. When I'm not working, I love spending time with my family (husband, son and cat) and friends, making music, dancing, gardening, reading, whittling spoons, and heading out to the woods.
